Garderie Bernadette Child Care Centre (GBCCC) is a non-profit organization. Its operations began in 1988, as a result of the co-operative efforts of students and staff of the University of Ottawa. A volunteer Board of Directors consisting of parents, a union representative, the Director of the center, a representative of the University of Ottawa, and members at large manage GBCCC.
GBCCC is licensed by the Ministry of Education under the Childcare and Early Years Act. Our license capacity accommodates ten (10) infants aged six weeks to eighteen months, fifteen (15) toddlers aged eighteen months to thirty months and twenty-four (24) preschoolers aged thirty months to five years of age. GBCCC is enrolled in the Canada-Wide Early Learning Childcare System (CWELCC). Children who qualify for a child care subsidy through the City of Ottawa may attend our center. Our mandate is to serve the students and employees of the University of Ottawa; however, we also welcome families from the community.
